Gov. Jim Douglas recently announced that Vermont Emergency Management has been fully accredited by the national Emergency Management Accreditation Program. Vermont is now one of 22 states and four jurisdictions with an accredited program.
EMAP is a review process for state and local emergency management programs to ensure they are in compliance with national standards. The process provides emergency management programs the chance to be recognized for compliance with national standards, demonstrate accountability and focus on areas and issues where resources are needed.
