		<description>It&#039;s good that vets are treated much better than they were when they were coming home from Vietnam (it&#039;s a shame they were treated so poorly).

The problem with this program is the resentment it creates in the agency where vets are hired.  Local folks may not be selected for a position they&#039;ve filled before and both the individual and the hiring agency may hold this against the veteran.  These tough economic times are making it harder on everyone to find work and when a vet is hired because of their status, many feel it is unfair.

I&#039;ve experienced this, being a 10-pt preference eligible vet myself.  Not everyone in the organization treats me like this, but I&#039;ve definitely had a harder time because of it in other ways.</description>
